Selected by CEO to provide in-house counsel after performing exemplary contract work at Law Office of Nicole Harvey. Led SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) merger to take the company public by creating legal processes, standard NDAs, and other contracts. Developed an understanding of internal and outside cross-functional teams and supervised legal work to ensure consistency. Ensured compliance of newly public company post-merger, collaborating with outside counsel to consult on Sarbanes–Oxley compliance to build policies and procedures. Led team of 4 direct reports and 20+ outside attorneys and legal consultants. 

Supported regulatory compliance and other unique legal needs. Assisted with delicate and challenging employment matters. Strategically reorganized policy structure to establish accessibility and comprehensibility. 

Served private clients and advanced the firm in the Reno market by leveraging local connections across industries. Established process using Zoom and remote notary public to sign documents, maintaining the survival of estate plan practice group at outset of Covid lockdowns, resulting in an increase in estate planning business and a feature NPR interview. Grew and expanded the Reno market during the pandemic by leveraging social media, creating video training for professional and polished-looking Zoom calls, educating the team on using Facebook Live Q&As for outreach, and promoting business on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. 

Began tenure as a part-time contract through Harvey Law Firm before joining full-time with responsibility for the annual privacy notice project, supported suspicious activity reporting (SARs), and facilitated various projects in capacity as Lean Six Sigma yellow belt, including compliance in partnership with the operations team. Created company risk calculator to measure controls and developed a configurable Process Unity platform to monitor and track KPIs and portal for employees to ask questions or submit information to the compliance team and housed risk assessment process.  Streamlined annual privacy notice process, saving hundreds of thousands in postage through efficient use of data. Built cohesion in teams across Carson City and Chicago by implementing morale improvement activities and engaging in competitions.
